Phlogopite mica tape
It is made of high quality phlogopite mica paper as substrate, glass fiber or carbon-free polymer film (such as PE) as reinforcement material at one side or both sides, bonded by organic silicon resin, then baked at high temperature and dried, and cut into tape.
Types:
According to the different reinforcing material, the products can be divided into:

LC-5461-P-FS single-sided thin-film phlogopite tape
LC-5461-P-GFD three-in-one phlogopite tape

Features
Excellent insulating property at high
temperature. For R-5461-P MICA phlogopite tape at temperatures 750~950℃ and voltage 600~1000V, and for R-5461-S synthetic mica
tape, R-5641-MC calcined muscovite tape at temperature 950~1050℃ and voltage 600~1000V, the breakdown does not occur
within 90 minutes.
Good environmental protection performance. The product does not contain
asbestos and does not produce toxic gases at high temperature.
Good acid and alkali resistance, and corona and radiation resistance. The
products are dry, not adhesive, have good bending ability and flexibility, and
have high tensile strength at high speed winding and wrapping of wires and
cables.

Storage

Packaging
One pack is usually at 50kg, sealed with plastic film and packed in carton. The fumigation-free pallet shall be used when exporting. Each pallet contains <1000KG, or protected by metal drum.
Knowledge of uses
When using fire-resistant mica tape, the winding and wrapping processes are most critical. The technicians should select appropriate width mica tape based on the wire sizes, winding tension, angles and wrapping speed, in case of broken tape or missed space, to ensure the surface of the insulated conductors after wrapping is smooth and flat, no mica falling off.
When winding small cross section wires, due to small coiling radius, the mica falls off easily. The width of the mica tape is small and the tensile strength is small, so the coiling tension and speed shall be uniform, in case tape broken and mica powder fallen off.
Mica tape wrapping layers and lapping rate are different when the material properties, specifications and models of the cables are different, and shall be determined by the cable designer based on the result of fire resistance test. According to IEC standard about fire-resistant cable testing, we recommend wrapping layers are 2 and the lapping rate is not less than 50%, i.e. the wire is wrapped by 4 layers of mica tapes.
